EditPad Pro 6 More Portable Than Ever

EditPad Pro 6 has a new Create Portable Installation feature that allows you to install EditPad Pro 6 on any removable device, be it an Iomega ZIP disk or any brand of USB stick or flash memory card. This feature makes the special ActiveDisk edition largely redundant. With the waning popularity of ZIP drives, we are no longer releasing updates to the ActiveDisk edition. You can still download the last ActiveDisk release near the bottom of this page if you want to continue using it.

About Iomega ActiveDisk

Iomega ActiveDisk is a technology that allows ActiveDisk-enabled software to be run from a ZIP-100 or ZIP-250 disk on any computer with a ZIP drive, without installing the software onto that computer. When you install the ActiveDisk edition of EditPad Pro onto a ZIP disk, and then put the disk into any computer with a ZIP drive, EditPad Pro will automatically pop up. When you eject the disk, EditPad Pro will automatically be closed, and it will leave absolutely no traces of itself on the computer you used it on. If you have any unsaved files when ejecting the disk, EditPad Pro will give you a chance to save them before closing.

To install EditPad Pro onto a ZIP disk, simply download the ActiveDisk edition (see below), insert a blank ZIP disk into your computer, and run the self-extracting installation program you just downloaded. Easy!

You can also carry EditPad Pro with you on a USB stick, flash memory card or other removable device using the regular edition of EditPad Pro. The only difference is that EditPad Pro will not automatically start when inserting or ejecting the floppy or CD.

Never Be without Your Favorite Text Editor

If you sometimes or often work on other people's computers, or help them by fixing something on their computers, without any doubt, you have often been frustrated because those people do not have a powerful text editor installed on their computers. Fully Licensed Version

If you have already purchased EditPad Pro, you can download your own fully licensed copy of the ActiveDisk Edition of EditPad Pro. Simply type in your email address and EditPad Pro user ID below. If you lost your user ID, type in your email address and leave the user ID field blank. You will then receive an email message with your user ID.

Free Evaluation Version

The free evaluation version of EditPad Pro (ActiveDisk edition) can be downloaded from Iomega's ActiveDisk web site. Note that the ActiveDisk edition can only be installed onto a ZIP disk. If you want to install EditPad Pro on your hard disk, download the regular free evaluation version.
